New Years Eve in France

Photobucket

It's New Year's Eve here in Mougins.  I know because I spent all day making cookies for a party tonight and Sophie put on her sparkly dress just after breakfast.  And a couple of hours ago I watched the sun go down in a spectacular burst of color so beautiful that I ran inside to get my camera.  I took picture after picture of the same sky because I wanted you to see the same thing I did so I could say, "Did you SEE that!?"

Even though it's not as good as when you see it with your own eyes, it's better than not seeing it at all.

Another year is nearly gone, a tough one for a lot of people in the world.  For people I know, for people you know, for me, for strangers.  Different struggles in different places, that interrupt the beautiful moments we experience, alone or together, that make life good.  That make life feel important and rich.

I think it's important to share with each other, because it's impossible to go everywhere, to see everything, to experience it all with our own eyes.  So I thank all of you out there that share your lives with me with your pictures, ideas and words.  And I thank all of you out there that come here to see what I have to share.

Which is why I keep on writing this silly blog about our life . . . so I can share those things that make me want to turn to my husband or my kids, my neighbor or friend or YOU and say

"DID YOU SEE THAT?!"

Here's to a great 2012.

Bisous,
Stasha

Happy New Year, guys. We just got home. When we got here a copy of today's Washington Post was on our door. Huh? Well, Kerri's parents surprised us a flew over (and left the little treat as a hint). Pretty cool.

Have a good rentrée.
